Calgary independent living

We moved into The Manor this summer and found everyone very friendly, helpful and caring. The building and grounds are very well cared for and the suites are large. My favorite room is the sunroom, which is a nice bright room for reading, crafting, sewing or doing puzzles. The meals are delicious and a time for socializing with other residents. Staff are amazing; kind, considerate, and very helpful always greeting us by name and with a smile. As we were from outside of Calgary and didn’t know our way around the city we have found the bus trips to grocery stores and shopping malls very helpful. The Wellness Centre on site with a pharmacy, lab, and personal care available is also great. There are many activities and outings available for us to take part in. We would highly recommend The Manor for anyone thinking of making a move into an independent living community. No more grocery shopping, house maintenance and snow shoveling.

Manor Village at Signature Park is situated in a lovely area with many services and amenities and with easy access to other parts of the city. We were impressed with how friendly and engaging both staff and residents were when we toured MVSP. We are now settled into independent living in our lovely 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and continue to experience this feeling of care and attention. We enjoy the variety and quality of the meals served by friendly and efficient staff in the dining room with the added bonus of coming to know other residents while dining. Any maintenance we have required has been quickly addressed. There are many activities available to residents both in-house and in the wider community. At the end of a day on the go we appreciate parking in the indoor parkade and the choice of a meal in our suite or in the dining room with company.

After about a year of looking at senior homes we decided to make the move to The Manor at Varsity. We have been here almost 3 months and we could not be happier. The community is very welcoming. The residents, staff and meals are all part of our reasons for being so very content with our decision. B&B

I was a widow living alone in a condo at a rural golf course for 3 years after my husband passed away. I was lonely and never had the inclination to prepare regular meals. I decided I wanted to be where there were activities , people and someone to prepare healthy meals for me. A real estate friend took me under her wing and brought me into the city to show me what was available. This went on for 24 months. I did not find anything that really suited me. A church friend one Sunday said she was moving into a new facility and I should come and have a look. I made an appointment with Tina and was given all of the information for the Manor at Fish Creek Park. At that time the buildings were under construction. After leaving I knew that I had found my new home. I have been here for 14 months and love it. The staff bend over backwards to make us comfortable, and all we have to do is ask. I am extremely happy with all of the activities, we can be as busy as we want. The Manor provides a bus and driver to take the residents to very interesting and informative venues. A great feature is that as our health deteriorates we will be moved to a different section and do not have to move to another care facility. Since moving and taking part in the wonderful exercise program I notice that my over all health has improved. I tell everyone – I have made 2 wonderful decisions in my life. I moved in 6 months ago and I couldn’t be happier. I originally came with a friend who was interested but I was not. We did the tour and had lunch. I knew then this was the place for me. I have met so many wonderful people and the staff are warm, caring and available all the time. There are so many wonderful things to do. My friend and I both moved in and are neighbours now. So happy.

Freedom at Last 2 years ago my wife and I came to Calgary and started living at The Manor Village Fish Creek Park. We are so pleased with our choice %100 of the staff have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. The period of restricted living now over was so well handled . Now that our liberty has been restored we have been able to invite friends and relations to eat in the Medallion Room which is most attractive and handled so well by Antoun the manager. john now

I had heard from a friend about the great reputation that the Manor Village had, so I was hopeful there would be one built in the south. I saw the sign and immediately went in and had a visit with Tina, which was a great experience. I found that it met my needs and I made a deposit the next day. I love the security of the building. The staff are all wonderful and friendly, there are really nice people living here I’m 88 years young and I enjoy the variety of ages here. Bottom line is…don’t wait too long to enjoy the life that is there for you, you deserve it!
