Let me entertain you: star performers at The Manor Village Scottsdale
Do you remember the first concert you went to? We do - the thrill of getting the paper ticket through the post (those were the days!) or handing over money at the Box Office. Then, the actual night itself, a happy buzz of chatter in the auditorium before the lights dimmed and the audience hushed (for classical) or went completely wild (pop!).
Music marks some of the major events in our lives, and that’s why it’s at the heart of many activities here at The Manor Village Scottsdale. For many of our Resident, getting to concerts isn’t as easy as it used to be, with the concerns of travel, parking, late evening finishes and possible accessibility issues. So, instead, we bring the concert to them!
Live in concert at The Manor Village
Every month, we feature famous artists ‘in concert’ right here in The Manor Village. We set up a big screen, lots of comfortable seats, and show a live performance with the sound turned up (but not too much…).
Our star turns this August are by legendary singer Neil Diamond and none other than Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. We’re sure a lot of Residents will be joining Frank in singing “Fly me to the Moon”, “Mack the Knife” and “My Way”.

Visiting performers and musicians
Music and singing has a wide variety of health benefits (see our previous blog), so we also have regular performances by a roster of local musicians and performers.
These talented performers bring the enjoyment and energy of live music and entertainment to our retirement community two or three times a week. For our staff, it’s simply great to hear the sound of music drifting across the hallway, whether upbeat to brighten the mood or gently reflective for relaxation.
And yes, the Residents will join in too! Our entertainers love to ‘share the mic’ with anyone who wants to sing along, and many take requests for favourite songs too. For many Residents, live performances are one of the highlights of our packed calendar of senior events, which also includes regular outings, shopping trips, art classes, exercise sessions and more.

Preserving Independence for all
It’s all part of The Manor Village Preserving Independence program that offers all our seniors the level of independent living they want alongside the practical, medical and everyday support they require.
What’s more, our Residents help create their own events program every month! Our Activity Director Ronda holds a meeting to discuss what Residents would like to see and do, so the events reflect their interests and preferences, not ours.
Sounds like your kind of retirement community?
Why not come and join us for a personalized tour, and see what we offer either for yourself, your parents, or a loved one. And if you want to join in the singing whilst you’re here, we’ll hand you the mic!
